June is always a fun month in North Devon – with lots of events in the local area, and of course our very first Music and Beer Festival (read more about this below). Hopefully the weather is improving soon too!
We thought we’d tell you about a few things that are going on in North Devon over the next month, starting with:
Ilfracombe Victorian Week – 11th – 17th June. This event is always popular with Stowford guests – celebrating the Victorian Era when Ilfracombe was developed into a bustling seaside resort. With fireworks, garden parties, costume parades and more, a visit to Ilfracombe at this time is a must if you’re in the area.
Ilfracombe Golf Club Open Week – 6th – 12th June. Bring your golf gear down next week and join in with the Open Week competitions at this spectacular course near us – have a look at their website to view the course video and photos.
Combe Martin Strawberry Fayre – 14th June. This traditional fayre will be taking place on the Bowling Green where dozens of colourful stalls are erected to display and sell all types of homemade food and local crafts and of course, large helpings of Combe Martin Strawberries and cream with many a punnet taken home for Sunday tea. Celebrating a long history of market gardening in the sheltered village and a reputation for world famous strawberries, the fayre is as ever expected to be bursting with strawberry treats.
Gold Coast Oceanfest – on the solstice weekend (19th – 21st June) in Croyde this unique festival combines great live music and lifestyle sports (surf, skate, paddleboard, yoga etc.) Click on the link to find out more.
Stowford Beer and Music Festival 26th and 27th June – Come along and enjoy our local real ale and cider, along with a mouth-watering hog roast and BBQ. With entertainment to keep the kids amused and music from The Ilfracombe Music Collective, Badly Worn Toy, The Flaming Rat Rods, The Roughnecks & Lion Star, there will be fun for all the family. It’s bound to be a fantastic weekend!
Dogs Trust Ilfracombe Fun Day 28th June – Bring your dog along to Mullacott Equestrian Centre to compete in the fun dog show, or just come along to help support the local dogs trust and the fantastic work they do.
We hope you’ll be down to visit us at Stowford soon!
