Stowford Sign

Well after a pretty terrible winter of ice, rain, snow and plenty of mud, things are starting to look up. We'd like to apologise to anyone who wanted to get a pitch with us at Easter but weren't able to - as you can imagine we really hate turning bookings away but with the state of the pitches we felt we had no choice. Luckily we had our new all-weather pitches to use, but even on our hardstanding pitches it was virtually impossible to use an awning because the ground was so soft and muddy. We just needed some warm weather to dry things up a bit, and luckily it has arrived!

For anyone who has a booking over the coming week or two we are asking that you come and report back to the reception if the pitch you've been allocated is not suitable. We think the pitches are recovering well but we aren't able to check them all before people arrive on them. And please can you be careful driving on and off the grass so that it doesn't get rutted - try to keep vehicle movements to a minimum, and park on a road or hardstanding area wherever possible. ****If you are coming to stay with us please also be aware of the current Calor Gas shortage - we've been unable to get any Calor Gas for a while now and the situation looks to be ongoing for the moment, so make sure to bring gas with you or get some on the way if you need it****

Another casualty of this winter's extreme weather was our sign (pictured above). With the size of the wooden posts it's difficult to imagine how they could have snapped off, but some of you may be familiar with the wind that can batter us at Stowford. While the sign was down we had a lot of customers (new and returning!) missing the turning and driving straight past so hopefully now the new sign is up our entrance should be more obvious.

We were very pleased that despite the bad weather we've been getting some amazing reviews about the site - please feel free to have a look and add your own on any of the following sites: Trip AdvisorPitchup.comCool CampingBest of British, and TrustPilot.

March saw the return of our wonderful seasonal staff, including all our cleaners and gardeners. They have been busy getting the shower blocks spick and span, and tending the gardens.
