Winter 2015/2016

As you may already know, we’re very busy at Stowford this winter! As well as the inevitable brochure packing (32,000 going out this year!) there are a number of projects being undertaken on site; we thought we’d keep you up to date with what we’re doing and how we’re getting on so far:

  • The Stable Bar has had a facelift in time for our New Year’s Eve party, have a look at the pictures below – we hope you like what we’ve done!
  • We are constructing a new road through the playfield which will come out near the entrance to field 3. This will mean a new play area of course and it will enable us to pedestrianise the bar and pool area in the future. Here’s where the progress stands at the moment (due to the recent rain it’s rather muddy work!)
  • We are extending the Caravan Sales Office to create two new offices which will be in keeping with the rest of the building.

  • We are working on refurbishing the laundry room in Block 1, including a new floor and ceiling.
  • The pool has been drained and we are conducting our usual winter maintenance. Also there is more renovation work planned in the swimming pool so it will be looking a bit different when you come down next time.
  • You may have seen the new machinery/tractor shed up towards the stables, this is in its final stages now and is having solar panels fitted.
  • After Christmas we shall start work on some updates in Block 5 including new shower cubicles…
  • We’ve just planted 4123 new trees: mainly beech, hawthorne and hornbeam, which is double our yearly target of planting 2000 new trees! These have been planted in field 5 ‘Bridge park’, the Storage field, Field 4 ‘Great western park’,  Snow Close and Field 3 ‘Broad Meadow’
  • Reception is undergoing a makeover, along the lines of what we did in the lobby last winter, we hope it will bring us a bit more up to date (we may even change the colour of our uniforms if we can all agree on what colour to go for!!)
  • We’ll be having a new telephone system installed towards the end of January which we hope will be an improvement – please bear with us if there are any telephone problems while we are switching over.

That’s about all the news at the moment, remember to follow us on facebook or twitter to keep up to date with our latest news, offers and events.
